• In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
• Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
• Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.

• Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
• Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Record a video to document the condition of the property.
