Getting the best Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Book your Crystal Coast rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Spectacular Views! OCEANFRONT 8 BR, 4 BA Duplex has 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, email the host before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
