Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Worth the Wait, Soundside house in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
