Tips to get the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and picking the rightvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. The Gathering Place - 1 Block from Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
