Tips to get the perfect Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Beaufort. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal home near the ocean with covered porches & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is best for your family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
