Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the right Crystal Coast rental:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. The Better Beaufort Experience has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
