How to book the best Beaufort vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting the best rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Calm Tide on Ann Street, walk to Beaufort waterfront. No pets or smoking. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
