Atlantic Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Double Queen-Unit 302 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
