Tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • To find the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. This one-bedroom studio will send you back to the '60s and '70s. \n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
