Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best value, shift your family's Crystal Coast vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing a perfect Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. NEW Look-Luxury Oceanfront Home in Dolphin Ridge W\/ Pool & Hot Tub????Epic Views has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or applied to your invoice.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast destination you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
