Crystal Coast rental property booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Crystal Coast trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 3 Bed/2.5 Bath 1450 sq ft with Large Open Floor Plan, 3 Min Walk to Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast beach you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
