Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the rightrental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Point Emerald B-204, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, North Carolina! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
