Tricks and tips to get the optimal Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. UPDATED Sea-renity EAST near boat ramp has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If they are not listed, call the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of problems.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
