Tips and Tricks for getting the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Bright, cheery, well appointed 3BR, 3.5B Townhome has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
