Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

When to visit Pine Knoll Shores & When to book:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in Pine Knoll Shores. Book your Crystal Coast vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Toes in the Sand-Oceanfront, Beautifully Remodeled, 1st Floor Unit, Pool! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
