Our top Crystal Coast rental property booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Crystal Coast area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect rental home in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. “Castaways\" Atlantic Beach Family Fun Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast attraction you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
