Tips to get the perfect Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • To start, have your group commit to the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Cooleemee Place North, Oceanside Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
