Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Crystal Coast rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Custom Beachfront Home, Oceanfront Oasis to relax and recharge. has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
