Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful Ocean & Sound Views! Luxury Vacation with In Ground Private Pool! has 8 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
