Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Crystal Coast vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the right Crystal Coast vacation home:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC -Hungerford's Haven has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
