Crystal Coast rental home tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To get the best value, shift your family's Crystal Coast vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Nice 2 BR Cottage Near Downtown WIFI and Kitchen\n\n has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
