Tips to get the best Emerald Isle vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Book your Crystal Coast rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Finding the perfect vacation rental:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Point Emerald A-301, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
