Tricks and tips to get the very best Crystal Coast rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer is high season in Indian Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in Indian Beach:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Salt & Light, Oceanfront House in Indian Beach, NC! has 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific Crystal Coast attraction you are enamored with, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
