Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Crystal Coast rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Crystal Coast attractions.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Emerald Isle:

  • To start, have your group commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Sassy Seagull East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
