Atlantic Beach just made #16 in the list of Top 100 Beaches in the United States, beating out even beaches in Hawaii! Truly a hidden gem, as this part of the island doesn't have public access, beyond a few cars, so it's just folks staying right there.

My favorite spots here are the broad with outdoor areas, including dining, humongous sectional couches, and fire table to savor as the sun goes down. I appreciate that I can hear the waves crash from here.

How to get the best Crystal Coast vacation property experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Crystal Coast rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Barefoot Beach: Spectacular Family Beach Retreat! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
