Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in New Bern. To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in New Bern:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Downtown Blue Manor 1 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
