• Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
• Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
• Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
• Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
• When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Record a video to document the condition of the property.
• Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review.
