Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking the rightrental home:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Great Rates & Location~Close to the beach and Atlantic beach Circle has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
