Finding the best Crystal Coast vacation rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. UPDATED KITCHEN - AMAZING VIEWS has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
