Tips to get the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the best value, change your family's Crystal Coast vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First and foremost, have your family select dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 3RD FLOOR WITH GREAT OCEAN VIEWS. OCEANFRONT COMPLEX WITH FAMILY AMENITIES has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
