How to find the best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Crystal Coast attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Dog Friendly Oceanside Home Near Public Beach Ramp at Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
