Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the best rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Crystal Coast restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Rita's Restful Oceanview has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
