Strategies to get the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:

  • Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Surfari, beautiful home on the Crystal Coast has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
