Finding the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Crystal Coast attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. The Best Oceanfront View!! \nLook no further. This is the one! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
