Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the best rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Start by having your family decide on the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Come, relax and enjoy all that Atlantic Beach has to offer!! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
