Finding the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Crystal Coast area. Book your Crystal Coast vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:

  • Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Cozy Condo renovated 2021 for your family! Waterslide, indoor pool&Putt Putt. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast attraction you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
