How to find the best Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Crystal Coast restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. One level, pet friendly, perfect for small family! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
