Tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:

Getting the best value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Selecting and booking the best Crystal Coast rental:

  • Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Palm Cottage I At The Grove, Oceanfront House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's an individual Crystal Coast destination you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
