Conveniences include a pool on the sound side with a heated pool on the ocean side of the complex. Both have Jacuzzi hot tubs alongside. It's a short walk to the ocean where a charming beach awaits you or visit the sound right behind your unit to observe shore birds or walk in the shallows of the sound looking for crabs and conchs along with kayaking, fishing, clamming or just calming in the sun.

There is a good selection of seafood eateries close by or you can visit Morehead City or historic Beaufort for a wide selection of shopping, the Maritime Museum. Ferry boat boat rides are available out of Beaufort to Shackleford Banks (to see wild horses), Sand Dollar Island and Cape Lookout. Mini golf, bumper cars and jet ski units are within a mile and a half and the North Carolina State Aquarium is 10 mins. away. Charter boats for both deep sea and sound fishing are within fifteen mins. and two golf courses are close by (fifteen and twenty min. drives).

Our top Crystal Coast vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Indian Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Crystal Coast vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental:

  • Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Peaceful Ocean Club sound front condo with great view and easy walk to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
