Our top Atlantic Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Steps to the beach! 3BR/2.5BA Oceanfront condo complex has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
