Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Crystal Coast rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in Beaufort:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. PET FRIENDLY rooms available, short walk to Historic Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
