Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Beaufort. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
