Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Crystal Coast rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • In the Crystal Coast area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Crystal Coast area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to select the best vacation home in Beaufort:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. PETS Welcome for small extra fee..Walking distance to Beaufort Waterfront has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
