Getting the best Crystal Coast vacation home experience:

When to book a Crystal Coast rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in the Crystal Coast area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Crystal Coast area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best vacation rental in the Crystal Coast area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Dock Holiday, Oceanview House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
