Crystal Coast vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • To book the largest rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Crystal Coast area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

How to pick the best rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Atlantic Beach Ocean View Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast attraction you long to visit, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
