Finding the best Beaufort vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in the Crystal Coast area. To get the best rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Kolby's Kottage, Soundfront House in Beaufort, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Crystal Coast rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular Crystal Coast attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
