Tips to get the best vacation home experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to reserve a Beaufort rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Crystal Coast vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Crystal Coast area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Crystal Coast visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing yourrental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Family affordable & close enough to all the fun stuff! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Crystal Coast beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
